This film leaves a lot of questions unanswered. For example, why is there gratuitous man-ass in this movie? Why are so many robots designed to mimic very effeminate men in the future? How did I not notice Will Smith's weird ears before?
This is the first movie i've ever seen that uses the title of a book and then credits the book only for "suggesting" the story. In this case it's appropriate, because except for the fact that there are robots involved, there's really not much in common between the collection of Asimov stories and the movie.
I'm stalling.
It's really not any good. It's pretty enough. It has lots of decent looking effects. Will demonstrates the same charisma he can be found wasting in any number of craptastic big-budget flicks. The story is only suspenseful if you're slow on the uptake, and the leading lady would have gotten voted off "The Next Action Star." She's actually significantly more robotic than her animatronic costars.
No reason to see it unless you've been champing at the bit to see the Fresh Prince half naked.
